The RECENTRE project focuses on supporting the green transformation of the manufacturing sector in the Alps and promoting the adoption of advanced technologies that contribute to the sustainability and well-being of workers. The project aims to strike a balance between green production, digitalization and human-centric approaches and follows the principles of Industry 5.0.
Key areas:
- Strengthening research and innovation capacities in the Alpine region.
- Promoting the transition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to sustainable and resilient business models through the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation.
- Improving the well-being of employees in a highly digitalized work environment.
Challenges addressed by the project:
RECENTRE addresses the challenges faced by SMEs in the Alps, such as economic pressures and the need for greater flexibility, efficiency and sustainability. The project supports companies in reducing their environmental impact and adapting to new business models based on the principles of Industry 5.0.
Main activities and results:
- Development of 20 SME Transition Plans and 5 Investment Assessments to support SMEs in their transition.
- Creation of guidelines and methodologies to support SMEs in adopting sustainable practices.
- Implementation of pilot projects to demonstrate the impact of Industry 5.0 practices on SME transformation.
- Collaborate with local and regional stakeholders to apply project results on a wider scale.
Expected impact:
RECENTRE will help SMEs in the Alpine Space to increase their innovation capacity and adopt advanced sustainable technologies, contributing to the competitiveness, sustainability and resilience of the region.
