XR ALPE ADRIA - conference on VR/AR/MR technologies

We are forced to postpone the XR ALPE ADRIA conference due to the global situation regarding the risk of coronavirus infection.

The global interest in XR technologies is growing rapidly. The fields of industry, health, education is increasingly connected with the new technology, and with the AI and faster mobile connections, XR content is taking major steps into other areas as well. Last year's conference exceeded all expectations, so this year we have further expanded the conference and its contents to the entire Alps Adria region.

According to global technology analysts, virtual and augmented reality will in the near future represent what the corporate website currently means. Solutions in this field are already reaching several billion euros in annual turnover, and by 2021, according to projections, the industry is expected to turn over 130 billion euros, so it is important that Slovenian business world also enters into the world of augmented and virtual reality.

Technology Park Ljubljana and the XR Community of Slovenia, together with their partners, invite you to the XR Alpe Adria Regional Conference on VR/AR MR technologies, which will take place from 24th March to 25th March 2020 between 9:00 and 20:00 at the Technology Park Ljubljana. You will get to know new trends, discover new technologies and open the door to new DIMENSIONS OF FUTR(X)RE.

XR ALPE ADRIA CONFERENCE

Various panels, workshops and roundtables will feature the largest experts and experts in the field of virtual and augmented reality in Slovenia.

The conference will:

• Focus on some important questions about the future and challenges of open innovation and the use of VR/AR/ MR technologies in Slovenia and worldwide,
• Present projects, current status and connect stakeholders of the Slovenian VR/AR/MR ecosystem,
• present major educational and technological VR / AR / MR projects in Slovenia,
• Demonstrate good practices in open innovation, digital transformation and the transfer of VR/AR ideas to entrepreneurship and industry,
• Outline the possibilities of cooperation and the establishment of a system of local innovation centers between Slovenia and countries in the Alps Adriatic region; and
• Introduce opportunities for gaining support and vouchers for companies and start-ups operating in the field of VR/AR/MR or digital transformations.

The highlight of the conference will represent a demonstration of Microsoft Hololense glasses and testing of new XR solutions, in an XR lab where you can get together with experts, students and start-ups to learn about the latest trends, and test and develop ideas in the field of virtual and of augmented reality.
 

XR LABORATORY

The laboratory is a meeting point for Slovenian VR / AR / MR technologies. The aim of the XR Lab is to successfully involve regional actors in this field and to establish links between faculties, research organizations, companies, and other interested public. The lab will enable businesses to develop virtual reality and augmented reality products and ideas. In addition to the necessary infrastructure and equipment of the laboratory, mentoring assistance from renowned professionals is also available to interested students and businesses.

The laboratory is also an entry point - a local innovation hub for the OISAIR network, through which companies can realize their innovation needs and ideas in collaboration with the best R&D institutions in the Adriatic-Ionian region. 

Participation
Participation at the XR Alpe Adria conference and testing of new technologies in the VR/AR lab including organized lunches are free of charge. Registration is mandatory.
