2018 Balkan Hackathon Challenge
25. 05. 2018
2018 Balkan Hackathon Challenge will take place on June 27 and 28 at the Sofia Tech Park in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Balkan Hackathon is part of the official Calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and also part of European Digital and Innovation Week.
The Balkan Hackathon welcomes coders from all Balkan countries – startups, developers, designers, students and ICT professionals – to gather in Sofia to explore, prototype, and create the technological solutions to Europe’s digital future.
The main topic and coding challenge of the Balkan Hackathon is bridging the digital divide. Anyone thinking about how to improve online government tools, ensure citizens’ privacy and security, and guarantee the inclusion of all European citizens in the digital age, regardless of their income, geographic location, health, or age is welcome to the challenge.
Winning ideas will be funded with up to 5 000 EUR and will be awarded the chance to connect with investors. The winning team will be invited to Brussels by European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel to attend Europe Code Week 2018.
Registration is opened till 1 June, 2018.
