Opis
Ekliptik was founded in 2006 to develop and market new methods and products in the medical field. The founders are researchers with years of experience in the field of information technology and medicine with internationally successful projects. Among others, they have designed programs for virtual planning of surgical operations (Live®Live, SQ Pelvis), animated virtual satire (HriBar), simulator development for the Slovenian military, visualisation of archaeological sites and visualisation of Slovenian motorways.
The company is made up of highly qualified employees in the fields of medicine, informatics, economics and visual communications, which forms a complex basis for successful business and development operations.
The company aims to become one of the world’s leading companies in the field of image-guided surgery on long bones within five years. The owners of the company are the inventors of the new technological platform GUIDING STAR, which, together with the LIDIS (Less Invasive Distal Interlocking System) module, enables image guiding for the less invasive closing of distal apertures in hollow intramedullar nails. In surgical practice in traumatology and orthopaedics the problem of the closing of distal apertures in hollow intramedullar nails is associated with the time required for closing and X-ray images. The invention, for which a patent has been filed at the Republic of Slovenia Patent Office, eliminates the problems connected with the time of the procedure, and most importantly, eliminates the need for X-rays.
The GUIDING STAR system with the LIDIS module eliminates the difficulties of manual closing and is the only product on the market which can be used for any hollow intermedullar nail, as the competition is limited to specific types of nails. The LIDIS module, for which all of the required certificates have been obtained, will be marketed in Europe first, and then on the global market, primarily on the European and American markets.
The GUIDING STAR system is designed so that both its software and hardware architecture allow the attachment of new modules in order to increase the utility and applicability of the base product.
The company has a highly active R&D team which is currently developing a new module for image-guided surgery for repairing fractures in long bones and eliminating torsional rotation.
